On a Roll...

Oy!  So I'm finally getting around to a post at 1:00 a.m. on my Spring Break!!  I just have so many ideas running through my head that I just can't stop!! LOL

Today, I've spent time printing, cutting, and stapling things together to get ready for STAAR prep next week.  I've made a specific lesson plan for each day and the day before STAAR.  I have a great team teacher and she's let me combine the classes and do some activities (with her help!).  I am forever grateful to Vanessa for being so flexible!

Well, I had to wait to start printing, etc. because my ink didn't get here until 6:00 p.m.!  Thanks, UPS! :-/  Then I had to go to Walmart for cardstock (which I thought I had...wrong...maybe in some other universe) and wait 30 MINUTES to check out.  An extreme coupon lady was buying 5 million bars of soap and 30 million washcloths at 10:45 at night.  I don't have a problem with that.  I appreciate that she decided to do it later, instead of the 4 o'clock rush time. But, for some reason, Walmart thinks that 3 checkers are enough.  They should know better!!!! That place is always busy.  And everyone behind her, including me, only had 3 or 4 items!! UGH.  The other lines were super long, too.  FINALLY, they noticed that the NEW checker was having a problem checking out the couponer and opened 1 more line.

So, here are the creations I made for my students.  While I didn't copy anyone's words, I did get the ideas from other bloggers and Pinterest (of course!)

I love this one!  I cut a slit in the card with an exacto (sp?) knife and put the paperclip through it.  Now my bookmarks are ready!  The star graphic came from Phyllis Harris designs at TpT.  It was free!!  I have included a copy of this card on my Free Printables page.  However, I did take the star off...she prohibits file sharing.  But, go to her store and download the graphic!

I created this one using Word Art in Microsoft Word.  It is also on my Free Printables page.  I found some yummy sour Starburst jellybeans.  I had to do this quickly...otherwise, Scott and Austen would have gobbled them up!!!
My final one tonight was also made with Microsoft Word.  You can find this on my Free Printables page, as well.

Whew!! I love getting things done!  This break has gone by so fast!  I haven't really been busy.  My husband has had to work, my son has been up to "19 year-old-boy" things, my mother spent the week with my nephews, my friends have done things with their families, and Megan is not back in Texas yet.  So it's been just me and the dog.  But I have enjoyed waking up late and stalking the blogs.  Oh, and watching the Harry Potter Weekend Event on ABC family!!  Yes, I have every movie in every form, but there is something about watching these events that I love.

So I leave you with this late night quote, in the spirit of my HP weekend...(by now, you should know to expect this kind of quote!!)

“We do not need magic to transform our world. We carry all of the power we need inside ourselves already.”--JK Rowling

Maybe that power is the creative inspiration in us all!

Always,
